Fresh from the news that General Motors (GM) will be pulling its Chevrolet brand out of mainstream markets in Europe, the automotive giant has now confirmed that its Australian subsidiary, Holden, will stop making cars Down Under by the end of 2017. It’s further bad news for GM, but even more so for the 2,900 Australian people who are set to lose their jobs as a result of the closure. And it’s a sad and disappointing end for the famous Holden marque, which can trace its history back as far as 1856.
Renault Captur Signature is a Captur with all the bells and whistles
It’s more than a year since the Renault Captur compact SUV arrived in the UK to tap in to the urban compact SUV market, and with prices starting from £12,495 it offers the high-riding, butch-looking style so many buyers are looking for. But it’s the specced-up models that help car makers’ bottom-lines the most, so we now get the Renault Captur Signature trim to top out the range and throw most of the Captur’s bells and whistles in to the mix as standard. That means an exterior makeover with 17″ alloys, two-tone paint and plenty of chrome and an interior that gets part leather trim, splashes of red detailing, Signature sill plates and mats.
The Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake has been officially revealed by Mercedes-Benz ahead of a public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. We had the reveal of the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake just over a week ago, the surprise appearance of a camouflaged prototype CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake at Goodwood and, finally, the real Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake appearing last week in an unannounced Mercedes video. And now we get the official details – and some photos – of the new CLS 63 AMG version of the Shooting Brake ahead of its likely public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.
